How I do what I do

Part of solving complex problems is understanding constraints. I thrive where limitation lives. It breeds creativity in the most unexpected ways. I recognize that businesses have limited resources and that for innovation to be made possible in the future, sometimes certain tradeoffs need to be made today. To do this, I employ user-centricity and balance the goals of the user with the goals of the business to achieve positive outcomes. I believe in devising systems that are researched and validated, scaleable and sustainable. The symbiosis between product design and business is where I see the opportunity to seek alignment and allocate our resources toward a common goal: helping our users and the business maintain a healthy, long-lasting, relationship.

Working on the Site Scan for ArcGIS web platform and autonomous flight app. Requirements gathering, conducting contextual analysis, surveys and workshops.

GOHUNT, Senior Product Designer

Oct 2021 - Nov 2022 | Los Angeles (Remote)

Built out the user research department to develop strategies for new products and innovations. Built out beta testing program from writing and analyzing surveys to selecting participants based on responses and app analytics. Conducted regular usability testing, stakeholder interviews, user interviews, and workshops. Designed new experiences for an offline-first approach to in-the-field navigation for hunters. Partnered with CS and product marketing to develop user assistance experiences from educational guides to implementing a system for feature request management. Managing feature requests with users and affiliates, directly, and reporting to leadership.

AirMap, UI/UX Designer

Apr 2019 - Sep 2021 | Santa Monica

First design hire of a fast-growing startup working to create tools for drone operators and air traffic controllers. Partnered with the Federal Aviation Administration and other government and military agencies across the globe. Designed mission planning software for single or multiple drone operations flown by soldiers on the ground for field reconnaissance. This project was commissioned by the Department of Defense (DOD) as a part of the Blue UAS project which you can read about here. Designed a drone and operator registry for the Portuguese government. Designed drone operations request and management software, both B2B and B2C, for Swiss ATC.

SevenRooms, UI/UX Designer (Mobile)

Aug 2015 - Dec 2018 | New York City

Owned design of iOS app across iPad, iPhone, and Apple Watch. Conducting contextual analysis, usability testing, and user interviews. Designing novel experiences for venue management systems (VMS) including a first-of-its-kind floorplan editor on native iOS. Contributor to web application in designing a new marketing extension of the platform.
